Everything you need to know about discovering and listening to stations on Kastly.

Browsing Stations

The Stations page is your gateway to discovering live radio on Kastly. Here's how to find stations that match your interests:

  • Search by name - Use the search bar to find stations by name or keyword.
  • Filter by category - Browse stations organized by genre categories like Music, Talk, Sports, News, and more.
  • Sort results - Sort by popularity, newest, or alphabetically to discover trending or new stations.
  • Station cards - Each card shows the station name, category, current show, and live listener count.
Following Stations

Following a station lets you quickly access it from your profile and stay connected:

  • Follow - Click the heart icon or Follow button on any station page to add it to your favorites.
  • Unfollow - Click the same button again to remove a station from your followed list.
  • View followed stations - Access all your followed stations from your profile page under "Followed Stations".
  • Quick access - Followed stations appear on your home page for instant access to your favorites.
Audio Player Controls

The global audio player appears at the bottom of the screen when you start listening to a station:

  • Play/Pause - Start or pause the current stream.
  • Volume - Adjust the volume level or mute the audio.
  • Station info - See the station name and current show information.
  • Persistent playback - Navigate between pages without interrupting your stream.
  • Station link - Click the station name to go directly to the station's page.
Tip: Background Listening

The audio player stays active as you browse other pages. You can explore stations, check schedules, and manage your profile all while listening live.

Stream Quality

Kastly stations stream in various formats and quality levels depending on how the broadcaster has configured their station:

  • MP3 - The most common format, compatible with virtually all devices and browsers.
  • AAC/AAC+ - Higher quality at lower bitrates, great for mobile listening.
  • Quality tiers - Some stations offer multiple quality options so you can choose based on your connection.
  • Auto-selection - The player automatically selects the best available stream for your connection.
Mobile Listening

Kastly is fully responsive and works great on mobile devices:

  • Mobile browser - Access Kastly from any mobile browser for a full listening experience.
  • Responsive player - The audio player adapts to your screen size for easy control on any device.
  • Data usage - Lower quality streams use less data. Consider this when listening on mobile networks.
  • Screen off - Most mobile browsers will continue playing audio when the screen is off or the browser is in the background.
